Maciej Frąckowiak – sociologist whose interests focus on urban social activism and image perceived as a tool and pretext for researching and changing social relations. He finished his PhD at the Faculty of Sociology of Poznań University. Co-founder of “(In)visible city” project.

Marlena Happach – architect, urban planner, animator, educator. Chairman of Warsaw branch of the Association of Polish Architects, co-founder of Happach Architekci, Founder and President of ODBLOKUJ Association. Graduate of the Faculty of Architecture at Politechnika Warszawska (2004). Assistant at the Department of Spatial Planning Warsaw UT (2005-2013). Winner of several architectural awards and competitions. Conducts participatory workshops according to the author’s method of using a site model (in cooperation with the Center for Social Communication at The Warsaw’s City Council) and archiTEKTURKI, architectural workshops for children. Consultant in The Library Development Program at Information Society Development Foundation. Initiator and coordinator of odNOWA project.

Grzegorz Piątek – architecture critic and curator based in Warsaw, currently chairman of Fundacja Centrum Architektury – a non-governmental organisation positioned at the forefront of the debate on architecture and cities in Poland. Graduate of the Faculty of Architecture at Politechnika Warszawska (2006). Staff editor at the magazine Architektura-murator in 2005-2011, contributor to numerous dailies, magazines, and books. Briefly served as officer for public spaces at the City of Warsaw (2013). Curated numerous architecture-related cultural projects, e.g. Le CorbusYear, devoted to Le Corbusier’s influence on Polish cities (2012). Awarded Golden Lion for Best National Pavilion for co-curating exhibition Hotel Polonia at the Venice Architecture Biennale (2008). Currently works on a biography of the legendary mayor of Warsaw Stefan Starzyński and an exhibition on post-war Central European architecture, due to open in Berlin in 2017.

Jakub Szczęsny studied architecture in Warsaw (WAPW), Paris (Paris-la-Defense) and Barcelona (ETSAB). Since 2008 he has been involved in extra-architectural projects in Poland, Israel and Palestinian Autonomy with leading Polish and foreign curators and art institutions. Guest tutor in several workshops. Co-founder of Centrala designers’ task force. Author of the Keret House, an art installation in the form of an insert between two existing buildings, representing different historical periods in Warsaw’s history. Worked in number of places worldwide, including projects in Spain, USA, Australia and recently Brasil.

Bęc Zmiana Foundation representants:

Bogna Świątkowska – curator of the Polish part of the project. The founder of Bec Zmiana Foundation with whom she rolled out a wide number of interdisciplinary projects, including New Urban Design, Synchronicity, Free Warsaw University, Expectative. Active promoter of young Polish art, architecture and design. The Associate Curator and the Curator of the exhibition staged as part of Synchronicity project in the years 2008-2015 (“Coś które nadchodzi. 21st century architecture”. The Praise of Cities. City promotion by architecture”) plus numerous projects rolled out by Bec Zmiana Foundation, including The Experiment Shall Not Be Continued (2012), Public Collection of Art of the Capital City of Warsaw (2012). The editor of many publications released by the Foundation: A member of the Board for Culture at Warsaw Town Hall. The founder of the national cultural magazine “Notes na 6 tygodni”. Co-founder of experimental magazine “Format P”. The author of numerous articles, interviews, reports, radio and TV programmes dedicated to contemporary popular culture.

Iga Kołodziej – coordinator of the Polish part of the project. Landscape architect, urban gardener, coordinator and producer of art and architecture projects. Graduated from Warsaw University of Life Science (2009). Member of Odblokuj Association and Polish Dendrology Society. Cooperated with Fundacja Centrum Architektury, Contemporary Art Center Ujazdowski Castle, Nowy Teatr in Warsaw, The Warsaw’s Praga Museum and numerous cultural institutions. Active guerrilla gardener, having extensive plant and urban environment knowledge, experienced in reviving neglected spaces.
